Eagle Condor Humanitarian was founded in 2003 on a simple belief: people—when empowered with the right tools and support—can transform their own lives and communities.

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, we are a nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to alleviating poverty through sustainable, locally led self-reliance programs in South America. Our mission is made possible by a volunteer Board of Directors who generously contribute their time, expertise, and resources to further this life-changing work.

The Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor

Our name is inspired by an ancient Andean prophecy—passed down through generations of wisdom keepers—that speaks of a time when humanity, once divided, would reunite.

According to this prophecy, people originally walked as one but eventually split into two paths:
• The
Eagle people pursued science, technology, and material advancement
• The
Condor people followed the ways of the heart—living in harmony with nature, spirit, and intuition.

For centuries, these paths remained separate. But now, the prophecy tells us, the time has come for the Eagle and the Condor to fly together—wing to wing—restoring balance to the world.

At Eagle Condor Humanitarian, we embrace this vision. We believe by sharing and learning from each other’s strengths, individuals, families, and communities thrive and are elevated.

Our logo reflects this mission. At its center is the Chakana, or Incan Cross—a sacred symbol of balance, harmony, and the bridge between heaven and earth. Surrounding it, the wings of the Eagle and the Condor remind us of the power of unity, and of the timeless purpose that guides our work: connect cultures, build understanding, and lift lives.
