Rayo de Esperanza

(Rays of Hope)

In one of the poorest regions of Peru, community leaders dreamed of a way to help their children—many of whom were too hungry or too far from school to attend regularly. That dream became Rayo de Esperanza, a vibrant nutrition and tutoring program that now serves over 50 children.

Here, school attendance opens the door to a hot meal, homework help, and a path toward long-term change. It’s hope in action, one child at a time.

Semillas de Amor

(Seeds of Love)

 —Turbaco, Colombia

It began with one woman feeding nearly 100 displaced children on the street.

Thanks to ECH Expeditions and our generous sponsors, her act of compassion has grown into a community center offering daily meals, tutoring, music classes, and more.

The daily meal ensures school attendance. The learning, creativity, and cultural connection that follow help children discover their talents and build the tools to rise above poverty.

Fundación Raíces de Fe

(Roots of Faith)

 — Isla Grande, Colombia

Isla Grande had no safe place for children to go after school—until Raíces de Fe was born.

This after-school program now offers a space for children to gather, learn practical trades, and stay off the streets. In 2023, it expanded to include cultural heritage and dance lessons, helping children reconnect with their roots while gaining real skills.



Today, many children from the Rosario Islands not only attend school but also perform in cultural festivals and earn income through dance and music, sharing their heritage with locals and tourists alike.

Nauta School

 —Nauta, Peru

In the Amazonian region near Iquitos, access to quality education was nearly impossible—until the community partnered with ECH and local leader Patricia (Patty) Vasquez Valderrama to make a bold vision come to life.

Together, Nauta School  was built, a fully functional educational facility that opened its doors with 60 eager students. Thanks to ECH’s support in constructing the school’s infrastructure, the regional government now provides certified teachers, ensuring the program's long-term sustainability.



As of 2025, more than 600 children now attend Nauta School—proof that when we invest in communities, hope multiplies.

Chilcapamba School

 —Chilcapamba, Ecuador

In this rural Andean village, children walk long distances to reach school—but their commitment is unwavering.

ECH stepped in to build a kitchen at the school, which qualified the institution for state support. Now, thanks to this critical improvement, every student receives a daily nutritious meal, with parents volunteering to prepare the food. It’s a powerful partnership that fuels learning and ensures no child studies on an empty stomach.
